This past Sunday, Phi Delta Theta held its third annual Pickleball Tournament benefitting The Wyatt Thistle Memorial Fund, honoring our brother. We happily raised over $22,000. We would like to thank all of our sponsors who helped make this happen along with everyone who came out to play and support our cause.

Congratulations to Alex Childers and Vinod Gonwa on winning the Intermediate bracket! And congratulations to Rachel and Steven Young for winning the beginner bracket!

This past April, we held our second annual UM Phi Delta Theta Pickleball Tournament. With over 60 teams that played in this year’s tournament and 29 sponsors, the Mississippi Alpha chapter is excited to announce that we have raised $16,800 for this year’s tournament! All donations have been donated to our nonprofit of choice Steps 4 Shep, a non-profit funding research for Cystic Fibrosis.

Thank you so much to our sponsors and supporters. This event could not be put on without you. A special thank you goes to Mr. Worth DuPerier for helping prepare the tournament and Missy Turra for donating 100 Franklin Pickleballs. Congratulations to Coker Scott and Coleman Dorsett for winning the Intermediate bracket and Greyson Antes and William Hewitt for winning the Beginner bracket.

Fun weekend celebrating the 145th anniversary of Mississippi Alpha with an alumni reunion. We enjoyed having everyone back in Oxford this weekend!

This past week, the 2022 Phikeia Class worked with @oxfordlovepacks to pack meal bags for elementary, middle, and high school students in the Oxford-Lafayette area. Our Phikeias packed 250 bags and brought 2 weeks worth of extra food for the children in the area to donate to Oxford LovePacks. Thank you to Mrs. Liza Fruge from Oxford LovePacks for spending the afternoon with our guys!

It is with great sorrow that we note the death of one of MS Alpha's most loved alumni, Brother Dick O'Ferrall.

Richard Carter (Dick) O’Ferrall, Jr., went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2022.

There will be a private family burial in Mississippi. A public memorial service will be held on August 6, 2022, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church in Lookout Mountain, TN. Visitation will be held on the afternoon of August 5 at the church. There will be an ice cream reception to follow the service, and boys, there will be peanut butter in the ice cream.

The Pavilion is now the 13th building on campus named after a Mississippi Alpha alum, the most of any fraternity. The Sandy and John Black Pavillion at Ole Miss results from MS Alpha alumnus John Black and his wife Sandy.

We have also sponsored More Than A Meal Oxford and sent over 1,300 bottles of water to Jackson in a time of need.
